I like the Yakimas better - they click into place positively and stay there. My experience with the plastic Keepers has me wondering if the adjustement lever has seated in the hole or whether it is going to slip. Again. The Yakimas adjust in smaller increments. Yaks are also available with rails sized and drilled for Keeper's bolt spacing, so apparently I am not the only one to not favor the Keepers. Be aware though, that the Yaks have their own potential problem. Being aluminum, they can jam with sand, so be sure to install the rails with the sand slots down. They also will corrode in time with saltwater exposure. Either kind will work, and there are others. I tried a kayak from finland with had KajakSport footbraces in it which had footpedals that tilted towards the centerline of the kayak to match the paddlers foot angle - Very Comfortable!! They also were very solid for bracing and rolling. They had a flexible shaft mounting them to the rail adjuster device. (They are different than the 'tilting' foot pads that pivot on an axle to operate a rudder).

The Yakimas and Keepers should be available at Sea or WhiteWater kayaking shops in your area. On-line, try the Nantahala Outdoor Center, GRO, Northwest River Supplies (nrsweb.com) or other mail-order/web vendors.

Hope this helps

: After peeking the Newfound site I have a couple questions....

: Which footbrace is preferred here, Yakima Adjustable Aluminum Footbraces or
: Keepers Kayak Footbraces? Anywhere in the Northern Boston/Southern NH area
: stock these?
