Little bubbles

!Russ had some good pointers.

You need to determine when the bubbles are formed.
If the bubbles are in the epoxy before you apply it then it's a mixing problem and they will need to be removed somehow later.

If the bubbles are formed by air being trapped in the weave of the cloth it may be the way you are applying the resin to the cloth before you spread it, the way it's being spread, or you may be over-working it durring spreading.

Pour the resin onto the cloth at the highest point and let gravity help spread it. Spread successively across the cloth. Use slow hardener and give it time to soak in, don't try to force it. As you remove excess resin with the squeegee, don't use too much force, and place the excess in a paper cup by passing the edge through a slit in the side of the cup. This removes the air laden resin from the squeegee before making the next pass on the cloth.

If the bubbles are formed after you are all done wetting out the cloth, it may be the wood outgassing. As the resin soaks in, it displaces gasses in the wood.
Try sealing the wood first. Then use the falling temperature rule when applying the cloth.

If the bubbles are in the fill coats, try using a different applicator and/or tipping it off with a foam brush or foam roller cut in half.

Finally, it may be that the only way to remove 100% of the bubbles is to vacuum bag the whole thing. I think most everyone gets the little 1/64" dia. bubbles in a few places.
If you have to look really close to see them, they aren't going to matter to anyone but you anyway and they will not affect the structural quality of the layup.

Enjoy paddling! :)
