People do buy wooden kayaks, but it can be a tough sale unless you price it competatively with production kayaks. The uneducated buyer assumes "it is home-made, it must be cheap." If you just want the experience of building a kayak and don't mind selling at a loss, you will be able to sell it fairly easily. If you want to make money you will need to spend time developing your market and even then there are no guarantees. If you build boats for a living you probably already know this.
