System 3 epoxy: Being able to build the AT in the basement really helped. The temperature was a stable 70-72 degrees. I warmed the epoxy so it flowed well. Had a heater under the boat to raise the temperature locally. As soon as the epoxy was on, I turned off the heat. That really seemed to help with bubbles. Still needed to tip off with a foam brush. If you're working in dry 85 degree heat, you're pushing the envelope for good epoxy conditions with a standard hardener! System Three's epoxy book talks about how higher overall temperature reduces pot life.

: How's the AT paddling for you? Getting much use? I've heard nothing but compliments on how well it handles:
The AT has been great. I'm getting out several times/week. Will have update pictures of the finished boat with red transparent hull tint on the website very soon. I had the characteristic hard-chine wigglies at first but now the boat feels rock solid and turns great. (I'm new to this sport as of May this year.)

:The only negative I've heard is that it's really big and high volume... and a lot of folks think the cockpit it too big:
I'm 6'1" and 210. It may have a lot of volume but it's very quick and continues to glide long after the plastic sea kayaks are dead in the water. You can actually feel it surge and lift under a paddle stroke. It's a very lively boat. The cockpit may be longer, but this is a sea touring kayak. I really appreciate being able to rest with my knees up after an hour or so paddling. Now that I'm putting foam hip and knee braces in, it really fits well. It tracks very well on flat water and in 2 foot white cap chop. I had no trouble the 3rd time out on the 4th of July paddling into 20 knot winds and two foot white caps. It was a real hoot going downwind in those conditions!
