Hi Les,

That makes sense. Since I'm using it on sharp-angled chine and deck seams, the epoxy/wood flour/durham's mixture naturally sticks up higher that the softer mahogany plywood. So it's not too hard to sand into a nicely rounded corner. But, now I know it wouldn't be a good idea for filling flatter areas. Thanks.

: Thanks, Keith

: I was avoiding using epoxy because it cures so much harder than wood. I
: expected (and was advised) that this would create difficulties during
: sanding, with the cedar being removed much faster than the filler.

: When you use Durham's with epoxy, I suspect that it is behaving like any
: inert filler (such as microballoons), and just thicking the epoxy.
: Durham's is gypsum-based and needs water to "set up".

: Les
