Well now, this raises another question for me. There's no doubt that epoxy will give a much stronger bond than wood glue. Right? Especially when you consider heat and moisture. With the ability of the epoxy to soak into the wood, would it make sense to "stitch" the strips together with something like Wood Molding Glue, say a dot every 6 inches, so that the saturation coat of epoxy will be able to soak into the seams between the strips, bonding them together? I can think of two benefits with this approach.
1. Faster build time 2. Better bonding between strips
I'm trying to get all the input I can as I start building my Shooting Star (first stripper) and, after she paddled Ross' Outer Island last night, will probably have to build one of those for my partner, Barb. Paddling with Ross could get expensive.
