If this is the boat I think it is.... (major if) I remember it as a canadian make of glass and resin. Not sure if it had any chopped glass in it or not. We had one in my old sea explores post. At the time it was a pretty hot boat

I have a very old white water boat I use now as a surf boat that is the same era. I bought it for 12 dollars... 1 dollar for every hole was what I agreed to.

What I did to thumb it back up was take a laundry pen and mark the holes. Found them by emersing it in water and then filling it and loooking for the drips coming each way.

Sand each area you have marked and cover it with 2 layers of #6 glass. put the layers in 45degree oposite orientations. Put a smaller patch inside.

For myself I haven't bothered to clean up the patches. Its an old boat that sees some real tough use evey year. It looks like an old battle scarred vetrran and that's a good look to have sometimes. By the end of the season I'm ussually marking out other spots that are getting thin. So its not worth my time to make her look good jsut water proof for one mor season.

Suggestion sand the bottom and put a layer of glass on it as well. Its probobly were the most wear has happened. This gives your scouts some new to work through. Often the bow point will be pin holed. A small end pour and some glass to the outside will fix that if it what you have.

Godd luck and thanks for volunteerring to do a good turn with the kids!
