: After the meet at the beach my wife decided she wants a CLC 17.I carried my
: copy of Kayak Shop(not the new) with me to the lake this weekend to
: reread. I hadn't noticed the plans in the book before, but upon looking
: they dont appear to show the pattern for the deck. I know the plans are of
: older designs no longer available, but is this what the CLC plans look
: like. If so how is the deck drawn out. Am I missing something? Just
: wondering before I purchase a set.

You want to to trace the deck on your boat. Each boat deck will be slightly different depending on how you installed the deck beam, bulkheads and mini-beams. also the hieght and radius of you sheer clamps will all effect the way the deck lays down. So tracing the deck and adding a bunch of material at the edges is required insurance. Your only limitation on overlap is your homemade gage to find the sheer clamp as you nail the deck down.
Good luck.
