: HI-

: I paddle a STRUER CLEAVER-X K1 sprint boat which needs to be
: re-finish/painted.
: I am not able to find the original Norvegian PU paint in the US. What could I
: use that is available in the US. The current finish is clear, semi-gloss,
: very thin silky to the touch.

: Thank you in advance. Pls email at fmec@njcc.com

I used System Three linear polyurethane on my stripper. It's best sprayed on but I got a nice finish using foam brushes. It's a great finish, very uv resistant, dries to recoat in an hour and comes with a cross-liker catalyst for the top coat. It is however a gloss rather than a semi-gloss but you could machine buff it with a good rubbing compound to cut the gloss down once it's cured. It runs about $35/qt and goes a long way.
