: I glassed the hull with a full layer and a below waterline layer. When I
: scraped the edge of the below waterline layer, strings of fiberglass were
: partially pulled down the face of the single layer of glass. Is this a
: problem? What do I do? The strings look bad but will they be invisible as
: I continue? The strings are up to 3 inches long and extend from the chine
: toward the shear line. Thanks - Scott E.
I had the same thing happen. I used a cabinet scraper and cleaned up the edge and then sanded some of the spots but the scraper definitly worked better. As you go along the epoxy turns white but when you do your fill coats it becomes invisible. Be careful not to go into the bottom layer of glass. Hope this helps.
