: Is it possible/advisable to adapt a ROS for use as a polisher/buffer? Any
: recommendations for a reasonably priced unit if I get a separate one.
: Thanks.

Meguair's sells yellow foam rudder pads, at auto parts stores, for hand polishing. They are almost the same diameter as my ROS and the foam sticks to the hooks on the hook-&-loop sanding pad.

The foam works fine on the ROS with the Meguair's No. 9 Swirl Remover. However, I would recommend if you are going to do a full polish job (I used Meguair's No. 1, No.2 then No. 9) to use a power buffer or rotary sander with wool buffing pads. The buffing compound is designed to breakdown into finer grit from the heat generated from the power buffing.
