Chesapeakes are actually designed more for speed--their models generally have less rocker, and more waterline length. They also have a lot more volume, which translates to more comfort, but also more windage and excess volume.

The Pygmy Arctic Tern is a really neat boat.

If you've been in a squirt boat, then any sea kayak will feel huge!!
