Woe is me.

Hi all,

I feel like I am going backwards on my boat. Everything was coming along real well until I started the clear epoxy glassing. My hats off to those that have mastered this. I had my boat sanded and seperated the hall and deck and fiberglassed the insides. The deck curled badly even after three layers of glass inside and one layer outside. Then when I fastened the hall and deck together I had some cracking and buckling with delamination causing pimples. I have sanded most of this out leaving as much of the old glass as I can and will put on a new layer of glass over this. I noticed that when I sanded out the white pimples with 80 grit with my sander it did a good job but when I tried using 120 grit that more pimples formed. I finally decided that more heat was forming with the 120 grit to form more pimples. I went back to the 80 grit and everything was OK. And on top of this yesterday I was sanding with my B&D that everyone of this board told me not to buy and the rubber pad came flying off. It looks like the 4 screws that hold the pad must have been loose and tore throught the pad and the mounting. So I am off to a near by city this morning to buy a good P-W. I am getting a little panicky because I have a trip planned in late Aug. and still have a lot to do yet, coaming, varnishing, roof racks, yoke. I am thinking about cheating with some matching touch up paint there might be white spots or a blemish. I hate to do this but I don't think I have time to mess around very much.
