My paddle is based on the paddle shown on Zimmerly's plans of MAE 593-76. The blades are more pointed than a Greenland paddle, it has a ridge on the back of the blade and a gently convex power face. I have never used a Greenland style paddle but assume the technique is much the same. I just prefer the look of the Aleut style. Hope that answers your question even though it is pretty subjective.
