In Response To: Why use a greenland style paddle? (Steve L)

Thanks to everyone who responded and feel free to ad anything else. You have been most enlightening. I did A LOT of bicycling years ago and the Greenland paddle sounds like spinning a smaller gear at a high cadence as opposed to mashing a big gear and killing your knees. The roll is something I didn't anilize untill you posts. That reminds me of C1 boaters who can get an increadible low brace because the other blade dosen't get in the way. One of the hardest things for me in my roll is to keep the paddle up near the surface. With a euro paddle you really have to crank your arm up over your boat to be able to sweep near the surface. Forget about paddling I want to try rolling with one of those skinny little sticks! The only problem I forsee is that I do alot of white water paddling with a 45 degree feathered blade and it may get interesting on the river if I spent too much time with the greenland blade. Now I just have to learn enough about lenghts, looms and shapes to be able to fashion a servicable tool to learn with. Thanks again, Steve.
