I just leashed the lids on my Coho. I mixed up some dookie and epoxied a padeye to the underside of the deck at the cockpit end of each hatch and another to the undeside of each cover. I have some yellow thin nylon line like masons use for string lines and made them long enough to let me plop the covers in the cockpit so I wont have any blow aways when I am unloading the boat.

Mix enough wood flour to mmake the dookie about the same as for a fillet, put a dab over the underside of the moounting holes in the padeyes. When you smoosh them onto the covers (or deck uderside), it oozes thru the couter sink shape of the hole and when it hardens, you are set. Just remember to move them far enough from the edges of your covers that they don't interfer with closing them.

On the deck underside, I mounted them abutting the hatch spacer and lip.
