Hi Jeff,

I'm 6'-1" and 210 w a 34-36 waist. The cockpit on the Shearwater Baidarka that I am building is 16 1/2" X 30 1/2" and I have plenty of room. I'm sure you'll be fine in any standard size cockpit. Besides, when you cut the cockpit opening, try it on for size before you do the coaming and lip, if you think you'd feel more comfortable with a larger cockpit, cut it larger, and then proceed with the coaming and coaming lip. Just remember if you deviate much from the standard cockpit opening you may need to have a custom made skirt made. A custom skirt is no big deal there are a few places they can be ordered from for an extra $5 or so. Or you could check Shawn Bakers site and make your own.

Good luck,

Ken
