If you really want to see your agent cringe! Tell them you like to loan out your kayak occasionally. Without a liability boat policy, you are wide open to a law suit, should the borrwer drown or damage, say an oil tanker by colliding with it. My agent (State Farm) will write a policy that is based on the cheapest power boat policy. Could be as much as $75/year. At least that's what I think I heard and understood.
