The Little Auk may float a little low with your weight, but it should still work. If the Little Auk is quicker to build than the Great Auk it is because it generally does not have hatches. While being smaller does make some of the tasks easier, it probably won't make them go that much faster.

: I am new to kayaking and want to build a small boat for the small lake across
: the street. This first kayak is intended to be a form of exercise, and a
: practice building experience before I build something exotic.

: My questions are.....Will the Little Auk haul my 6'3" 235# body around?
: and, is the Little Auk really any quicker to build than a Great Auk?

: Thanks in advance for your replies

: Dan
