In Response To: Little Auk for large paddlers? (Dan Nelson)

: Hi all,

: I am new to kayaking and want to build a small boat for the small lake across
: the street. This first kayak is intended to be a form of exercise, and a
: practice building experience before I build something exotic.

: My questions are.....Will the Little Auk haul my 6'3" 235# body around?
: and, is the Little Auk really any quicker to build than a Great Auk?

: Thanks in advance for your replies

: Dan

Consider a Mill Creek 13 from CLC.
It's a 13 foot boat, and can handle paddlers up to 250 pounds.
It's quick to build, and plans are available in Woodenboat magazine.
Just a thought.
