For folks in the Ithaca and Elmira, NY area check out Chapel lumber in Elmira. They stock lauan in 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, and 3/4". I picked up the 1/8" for $6.80 a sheet. Salesman told me they had 500 sheets in stock. No exotic marine plys though. The lauan has a clear unplugged face and a face with some cosmetic blemishes. Unfortunately, the faces with the cosmetic blemishes have the most attractive grain patterns and color. At least, I think so.
