Fiberglassing Ash Protective Strip? *Pic*

I don't have a better picture then this for illistration. The white ash protective strip starting at the bow and running under the haul a ways, sticks up in a radius from the haul and is not faired to blend in very much because it would cut too much of the protection away. Where the ash bead is fastened to the cedar haul is a corner depression depression, somewhat, that I am afraid the glass may not tuck into very well and pull out for a void to form. I have the casibal(sp)as a filler and I think I have read the when it is mixed as a filler it is clear. If so, should I fill the corner area between the ash and cedar and later fiberglass over this for a smooth glass fit. Would the wood still show up through the filler as if it wasn't there.
