Feature Strip Blues *Pic*

I just made the decision to redo my feature strip. Wow, that was a lot of time I put into this piece of wood. It has a distinct twist and bend to it that may or may not mold to the other strips. I'm not happy with the (un)tightness of the joints either. I definitely underestimated the difficulty factor on these miters.

I figure the work will be much simpler if I glue half of the pattern and then bookmatch it; can't believe I didn't do that to begin with. Also, I think I'll need a jig to keep everything aligned in the glue-up. Back to the drawing board : )

Any other ideas?
