Cost of W.R. Cedar

I was curious what people pay for their W.R. Cedar in various parts of the country.

Here in Colorado, the only place I have located that stocks 1" X 's in 20 foot lengths (and they only have 4 - 1" x 8" 's that length at this time) is charging $3.40 per linear fuut! This is clear, smooth 2 sides and 1 face (rough on 1 face).

I would get a price break at more than 100 LF.

I had Virginia White Cedar shipped in for my first kayak. I will not do that again. I paid high shipping charges and was not able to hand select the boards. The folks on the phone would only agree to find boards with face cut grain and it took alot to get them to do that. The quality of boards I received were below my standards and I was expecting it to be much whiter.

I was hoping to avoid scarfing on my Guillemot Exp.

Oops and a small rant about thin boards.

You call that a rant?
