Joubert okoume any good?

I'm about to buy okoume for my first Chesapeake kayak. I live in south Texas and okoume is scarce here. The only supplier I could find has Joubert (a French mill) 3mm, BS1088, okoume plywood at $35 for a 4x8 sheet. How does that fare to the more popular brands? I feel lucky to have found it, I was even comtemplating luan.
