Well, with no boat being built this winter, all my greenland paddles finished, and my wife's favorite strip kayak entering it's 7th season and looking pretty tired, I thought I'd try and bring it back to nice looking again. It has had years of heavy use, many abrasive surf landings and now badly needs some makeup. I'd like to cover up the numerous stress marks and places along the bow where, for some reason the tape has gone very cloudy.

I designed some NW indian type artwork that fits the areas perfectly, I have sanded off all the old varnish and am now at the stage of actually painting something.

Anybody done this and have any sage advice? I was just going to use enamel paint on the bare epoxy then varnish over the whole boat with Captains Varnish. Any reason you can think of why this wouldn't work? Is there a better paint I could use? Any advice would be appreciated...

Many thanks....Edgar
