Deck & Haul Alignment Blocks *Pic*

Hi all,

I think I have figured out how to align the deck and haul in a very simple way. No drilling, dowelling and worring about being perpendictular in alignment. In the blurry picture you see two pieces of 1/4 x 3/4 inch strips representing the shear line seperating the haul and the deck. On the inside or outside of the deck/haul, I glued two scrap pieces of strips with a appro. 45 Degree bevell fastened so they are close to but not above each other. When the two halves of the boat are put together the bevels guide the two halves into alignment. In my case, I believe I can glass the inside first, then hot glue as many blocks as I want to the inside glass haul and deck to align them, and then yellow glue the haul to the deck. Then when I am done with the outside I will craw inside and knock off the blocks with a hammer, clean off the hot glue and strip glass the inside seam. Tell me what you think is wrong with this.

John
