Here are some nicer photos of the heron in progress. Everything is going well I am steaming the inlays in order to get them to bend around the circle in the fore deck. I am going to put a 7.5" recessed VCP inside the circle. Going to try to bend the flange a bit by boiling to get it to follow the deck better. The rear is yet to be inlayed but you can see where the oval rear hatch is going to go. I am also going to put a 6" kayak sport day hatch in behind the seat. I probably should have built the higher rear deck version as the hatch recesses are going to cut into my storage space but I will be only be using this boat for overnights or in conjunction w/ the exped. The one foot dot spacing looks great I am trying to avoid an over stimulating boat but i don't know if it is going to work. I want to add this and do that i really have to fight to keep it simple.

Alright, the only problem I have had so far is around the cockpit the strips take a severe bend from the front to the back. So i am going to have to re strip the sides with the help of some steam in order to get a smooth transition from fore to aft deck. I have pictures of this if anyone is interested in the problem.
