I am not sure what grade the fabric was but still have some samples of it in the garage. If you send me your address I will send you a corner.

Abrasion resistance was good. The combination of PVC streched on a wood frame had a lot of give and 'bounce to it. The only time I had problems was when some "friends" beached it on a rocky shore and let it pound in the waves for 3 hours. The PVC is very waterproof. No additional covering required. The stem was sealed by stretching the fabric across the stem and nailing it with brass brads, forming a 1 inch overlap. The process was repeated with the second layer of fabric and then a three to four inch wide strip was glued over the joint to complete the watertight seam.
