Freezing Epoxy - It Worked! (so far)

Hello All,

Thanks for all of the responses and comments on my previous footbrace mounting post. In order to mount them I layed the boat on it's side and did them one at a time. But, they don't take much thickened epoxy. In fact, one squirt (1 resin, 0.5 hardner) was plenty for both.

In a previous massage (a long time ago) someone mentioned that they save epoxy coated rollers by throwing them in a ziplock and putting it in the freezer. I decided to try this to save epoxy between foot braces. I did one brace this morning at 9:30 am and threw the pot of thickened apoxy in the freezer (plastic margerine tub with lid). This evening at 9pm, we took the epoxy out and warmed it by putting the container in a couple inches of hot water. The cold, gelled epoxy thinned right out and I glued the other brace on. It kept for almost 12 hours!

Now, I have to see if it cures. I don't think that there'll be any problem though, the first half of the batch cured fine. I'll post and cry if it has to be scraped off and redone. :-)

Later,

Tim.
