Varnish shelf life

Hi everyone,

I'm in the final stages of finishing a Freedom 17' canoe. I used Interlux marine varnish on the exterior which is looking very nice, but I'm running out of the stuff and I have yet to start varnishing the inside. I have an old can of Behr spar varnish with UV inhibitors that I used on some paddles 3-1/2 years ago. The can has sat in my garage for 3 Minnesota winters, through several freeze/thaw cycles. It's still liquid, but it looks a little darker than I remember.

Does this stuff go bad, or can I still use it? Maybe I'm being cheap, but I hate to spring for another can of the interlux if I don't need to.

Thanks, Steve
