Well, I finally received my wood from Noahs in Buffalo.

Long story, it took a month to finally get it, and they sent 6566 instead of 1088 while charging me for the good stuff. Nevertheless, my SO and I decided the wood was good enough (just build another if the yak doesn't look good enough) and we have started constuction on Eric's Schades Merganser 16 at 16.5 ft long and 21" wide. Can't say I'll order from Noahs again - looks like Boulter will get any plywood orders I need in the future. In terms of looks, the 6566 is not the same quality of both sides.

Got panels all marked out on last Thursday and Friday and Saturday with some time on Fri and Sat spent cutting them out. We are using 4 mm for the hull and 3 mm for the deck by the way. Now they have been butt joined together over the last two nights with glass tape and we should be stitching by this weekend with hopefully some gussets and inner taping by early next week. Hope to hit the water sometime in July.

Just a construction update.

As its now getting warmer in upstate NY, I hope to get my yak in the water for the second time of the year this wkend. Perhaps Lake George if the ice floes are all gone.
