First, I just intalled knee braces in my Arctic Tern and used them today for the first time. What a big difference. I went last season without them -- not realizing what a significant handling improvement they are. If you are new to the sport like me and don't have them in your boat -- add them, well worth it.

Also, last year I noticed a slight "weather helm" or tendancy for the Arctic Tern to turn toward the wind. I always assumed it was just the design. Then I read Nicks post on how even slight movements in the seat can make a difference in the boats balance. My back rest is about 1" from the back of the cockpit rim and the seat is positioned accordingly. Should I be positioned forward another inch or two? Would that be enough to make the boat balance better?

This seems to be a subject overlooked in most of the builing material I have read.
