I have just finished reading Nick's book on the strip built Kayak's and have decided to get ambitious and tackle the "Guillemot." I have Drawn out the first form using the 1:10 graph paper, followed all directions, double and triple-checked numbers, and it looks identical to the form 7 that he has done as an example in the book. My problem is that the form is 19" in width and this also coincides with his diagram. I realize that if I put on 1/4" strips I will gain 1/2" which will give me 19 1/2". The diagram which shows all the dimensions, length/width etc. show the kayak being 21" in width. Can someone tell me what I am missing?
