putting a project on hold...

I am planning on building a strip-kayak. From what I've heard, it takes many hours to do (200-500). The problem is I'd like to start it now, but it may sit a while during the summer. Provided I don't coat either side of the strips, the shell should not deform if I do not get to 'glass it right away (maybe 6 weeks). Right? Has anyone left a boat to sit once the strips are laid? I know it would be a horror show if I 'glassed the outside and then let the boat sit for 6 weeks without 'glassing the inside. Read somewhere a guy did that and the hull curled up like a cigar.

Please let me know of your experience.
