Sqeedunk Cormorant ???'s for GRANT

Thanks GRANT for making your Cormorant offsets available. I've decided to build one as a fast dayboat with the following mods 1) Stretch to ~19ft, 2)reduced depth i.e. front of cockpit ~11", rear ~8" [ this to be accomplished be lowering side panel 1/2" fwd, 3/4" midship, and ~2" at the stern]. My questions Grant... In the very pretty picture on your splendid site of the elegant C-16 slicing along, It appears trimmed well down by the stern, Is this the balance assumed with your recomended seating position and no load? Is it the trim you recomend for handling? Can you put a figure (say bow freebd compared to stern) on it? You can see these answers would affect how much I lower the sheer at the stern. I will build a cambered fwd deck and a near flat aft deck. I welcome any comments you can offer and I hope you take no offence at my interference with your design. Typically it gets very windy on this coast and I'm looking for low volume and profile, with a premium on strong downwind tracking and good leaned manouverability. Almost no-one goes rudderless here but I've had good results with a retractable skeg in a self designed single chine high volume hull and might try that again. thanks Wayne Poulsen, Fremantle West Australia PS How are the Puffin offsets going? No rush as you can see.
