I have finally started to skin my Putz-Walrus 17. I am using 14-oz canvas bought from a craft store. The hull is already skinned and I need some advice before continuing with skinning the deck. Is it necessary to treat the inside of the canvas to prevent mildew? If yes what should I use?

My plan for the moment is to apply a primer-sealer to the outside before applying 2 or 3 coats of 100% acrylic exterior house paint.
