Cloudy Epoxy

Hi All,

I finished my first kayak (osprey) up until the point of varnishing. I let it sit in the shop for a couple of months before I used it, and I find that after all day in the water, the epoxy on the hull seems to become cloudy (it's not awful, but it's definitely not clear). It goes back to being clear after it's been out of the water.

I haven't varnished it yet, but I only intend to varnish the deck, which doesn't help me with the cloudy hull. I used System 3 epoxy. Is this cloudyness normal? I would think after 2 months the epoxy would be cured enough that the water wouldn't be affecting it in this way (BTW, I live in Florida...hot enough to cure...well...just about everything!). Any ideas as to what's happening here?

This was last summer, and I haven't had her in the water yet this season, but I'm getting ready to varnish, so if there's something I've done wrong that needs fixing...I'd like to do it before I go through the varnishing process.

Thanks...this board really helped during the whole building process!
