I've bought in my local lumberyard the strips needed to build my Guillemot. Instead of 18 feet strips I've ordered 9 feet ones, for a couple of good rea$$ons...

The fact is that the ammount of strips described in Nick's book (bill of materials) already have the waste included, but this weekend I've realized that I am running out of strips!! I would need at least 25% more of them.

So far, I've got a bunch of 1 or 1 1/2 feet strips that could be considered waste, maybe a whole 18 feet strip if I put them one after the other (my point is that I am not throwing away lots of waste).

Have anyone of you experienced the same problem?

PS: I've got no fancy deck designs either. Just a couple of pine accent strips running lengthwise.
