Bad start: Need some epoxy advice

My sealer coat just isn't going to do. I'm using System Three with the fast curing hardener. It's around 40-45 degrees and rains most of the time here on the Olympic Peninsula (it is a rainforest.) The sealer coat went on thick and uneven. I went over it with a roller to smooth it out. Bad mistake. It created a lot of bubbles and looked similar to some of my drywall textures. I sanded off most of the hull and took the areas with spruce strips down to bare wood. My second try, I placed a space heater and heat lamps under the hull and turned them off just prior to using a squeegee to re-seal the spruce. This time the coat was much thinner and I hit it with a foam brush to finish it off. MUCH better. At least I feel like I learned something. I plan on sanding most of the cured sealer coat off the deck next using 60 and 80 grit sandpaper. Do I need to worry about blush if this sits a while after I sand it? Is there ever a good time to use a roller? Any advice advice on fiberglassing would be appreciated as I'm a little gunshy at this point. Thanks
