Form spacing question

I'am putting the cleats on my strongback and want to be sure I am doing it right. In Nick's book he says to place cleats in front of form line from the bow to middle and place the cleats behind the marks for the aft forms. I understand about the strips curving from bow to stern and the forms must face the location marks so the strips lay on the edge of the form that is on the line. When I make the changeover in the middle of the boat it will require me to have 2 forms inside a 12" space. I know the strip will lay on the fore and aft edges of the forms. If this make sense to anyone, am I doing this right?
