during a random search for epoxy suppliers I kept seeing a reference to "specific gravity" of many different brands of epoxy. As i understand it(I could easliy be wrong) specific gravity is weight compared to an equal mass of water, with 1.0 being neutral , higher numbers being heavier than water(sinks) and lower numbers being lighter than water(floats). During my search i noted a huge difference in ranges of specific gravity numbers, .42 to 1.6. My question is how much of an impact would this make in the characteristics of a kayak? Or would it really matter much? I know that there is much, much more desirable traits to look for in epoxy than specific gravity. It was more an observation than anything else. Hope someone can answer this one.
