Putz Walrus in the Water

I put my Putz Walrus in the water for the first time today. It tips the scales at 33 pounds. It felt very light in the water and is much lower volume than my Arctic Tern. I was paddling in some decent waves at the edge of Commencement Bay just off the Narrows. The stern gets pushed around some by the waves and the bow occationally would plow through waves. I'm thinking of adding some ballast in the stern. The kayak's stability is not quite as good as what I would like. I need to lower the seat some as the floor is about an inch from the skin. I used the therma-rest seat from my Pygmy for padding, it doesnt raise me up too much above the floor. The boat seems faily fast and responds to leaned turns. It was fun, but my Pygmy Arctic Tern is a more predictable boat. They both got a lot of stares and comments from the people at point defiance. I'll have to see how it does after some tweeking.
