Adjusting forms/avoiding sleepy feet

Can any other Sasquatches out there give me some advice on foot position? I have size 12 feet, wear neoprene booties, and am new enough to kayaking that I haven't found the ideal foot position yet. I currently paddle a Pygmy Arctic Tern that should have good foot room, yet my feet can still go numb. I am toed-out-and-foreward with heels together. Should I be more flat-footed?

As I am planning to build a lower-volume stripper, footroom becomes even more of an issue and it seems I will have to adjust forms to get extra foot room. Assuming I figure out how much extra height I need to add at the foreward bulkhead, how do I go about transitioning in fore and aft forms?

Since I am an 'average'-sized male (5'10", 180#) I don't want to step up to a higher-volume boat, just compensate for my flippers.

Thanx in advance, Dean
