2 part polyurethane paint vs. tinted epoxy coat

Many thanks for the advice several months ago concerning refinishing an aging Esprit with 2 part polyurethane boat paint rather than simply putting a coat of West tinted with whitening agent......the results were definately mo' bettah. My only advice is to follow all of the requirements for specific recommended thinners and the like and spend the little extra for the same. And yes, it is possible to spray the stuff on with a gun, as in everything else in life, the results are dependent on prep work. The finish turned out hard as nails, deep as a Rolls Royce finish, and evidently tougher than gel coat (the gentleman has a penchant for running up on oyster rakes). Seriously toxic, read and follow all (and I do mean all) safety recommendations on the can. Again thanks again for the good advice on an excellent product. Christopher Kohut
