THEY ARE - GROOVES FOR ATTAINING LIGHT SPEED - NOT!

Actually, the photo is of the deck of a kayak that has been lightly sanded; enough to highlight the fact that the glass was imperfect.

After wetting out the cloth I noticed that there were a series of ridges that were beginning to pucker ever so slightly. I babysat the wetout for quite a while, hoping to be able to squeegee the puckers flat as the resin cured. This was only marginally successful and I ended up with what you now see. The blame for the puckering lies with the weaver - I am assuming that the tension settings must have been unbalanced.

It really isn't as bad as the photo depicts - the valleys are not deep at all and an additional 4 oz. of resin was all it took to fill them in. However, it was still extra sanding and epoxying that I shouldn't have had to do.
