Comment #1 - When you quote someone and leave out part of the quote, you should insert a where you cut. Nick's FULL comment was:

"Representatives on any kit manufacturer or kayak designer are welcome to express their opinion regarding techniques on my Bulletin Board. They are not welcome to criticize the competition."

Comment #2 - Your comment below no longer fits:

What Nick appears to be saying is that ANYONE can comment on a TECHNIQUE. If CLC reps want to say that, in their opinion, multi-chined boats are inferior they are welcome to state that. They are also welcome to say that CLC boats are the best in the world. What they are NOT welcome to do is criticize their competition, since they have an obvious financial interest in cutting into their competition's market share.
