BLOCK PLANE SHARPENING
By:Scott Wi;hite

I have a small Stanley block plane with an 1 3/4" Iron. the iron came from the factory with a 25 degree angle. Stanley recommends sharpening the tip of the iron at 30 degrees. I believe I've sharpened the iron correctly but the practice scarfs I cut are merely satisfactory. Any recommendations on sharpening the iron would be appreciated. The scarfs will be cut on 1/8" luan.

Thanks,
