OK, I'm going to need some help on this Japanese pull saw thing. I went to Woodcraft and they have about a dozen to choose from, most of which are well over $45. More like $60. The one that sounds right for what I'm doing is the Kataba 12" blade with 17TPI and 39" kerf. It's $60. Which one should I get if I'm trying not to spend more than I have to?

: Hi Patsy -
: Hopefully you are bracing and clamping the plywood to Workmates or saw
: horses. If you're still getting tear-out with the proper blade, just don't
: use that jigsaw. I purchased the Bosch jig-saw and it does a wonderful
: job, so does a nifty tool called the Fein Multi-master. The downside is
: both tools will set you back almost $200 each. That's alot to spend if you
: won't use them for other projects. The suggestion about the Japanese
: pull-saw was excellent. You should get one anyway, you'll use it lots
: during your project and they can be purchased for less than $45. Woodcraft
: sells them. I second the notion that it will be almost as fast as a
: jig-saw AND NO NOISE! It's very easy to make precise cuts with a pull-saw.
: There are some "pull-saws" sold at home depot, not the real
: thing.
