: If you can't find a good plan for what you want, take a look at the SOF
: section of Nick's website. People have built his Guillemot designs as SOF,
: and he does offer plans for a double.
This is interesting, because I had thought that I could take Nick's plan and set the stations on a strongback that could collapse and notch each station for the keel, sheer, chine and centerline and insert stringers. Then put some ribs for support for the stringers and have a good looking SOF.Has anyone used this idea on a strip plan?
I restored a Mead Kayak (circa 1930's) several years ago and it had aluminum ribs and a plywood deck. There was also a floorboard that added some rigidity. This kayak actually has a sail. So the strength was there.
